The 2013 Annual Conference entitled Innovation in Peacebuilding: Breaking Down Silos and Engaging Civil Society, was held April 15 to 17 in Washington, DC. Over the course of three full days of programming, AfP hosted nearly 200 participants, ranging from academic experts and peacebuilding professionals in the nonprofit sector, to diplomats, military officers, officials from the State Department and US Agency for International Development (USAID), Congressional staff, and scientists. Our largest and most visible conference to date, we also welcomed individuals from 14 countries—from Afghanistan and South Africa to the United Kingdom and Colombia!
