Best practices in Implementing policies related to FBO and religious actors’ engagement

The institution of new donor policies and strategies related to the humanitarian, development, and peacebuilding (HDP) sectors do not ensure they will be successfully implemented. Additional steps are needed to operationalize policies in a way that can increase the likelihood they will achieve intended outcomes. However, an emerging body of evidence demonstrates that these policies must be developed in close consultation with diverse stakeholders, including women, youth, and faith actors. They must also include these stakeholders as implementers of and participants in programs that relate to the policies, particularly at the local level. This plenary will explore key barriers and best practices for the integration of faith actors in policy development and implementation.
