Public Awareness & Partnerships

The Alliance for Peacebuilding elevates the public and policy profile of peacebuilding and builds robust professional networks for the peacebuilding field. We are co-leading a coalition to increase understanding and support for peace so that it becomes the goal in anticipating, managing, and resolving violent conflict. We connect the peacebuilding field to other professional networks by providing a best-in-class peacebuilding conference and build partnerships that advance discussion and action on rising priorities in the peacebuilding field.

A Global Campaign for Peace

In partnership with International Alert, Search for Common Ground, American Friends Service Committee and other leading peacebuilding organizations, AfP co-leads the Peacebuilding Coalition, a global campaign to elevate the profile of peacebuilding. Founded in 2016 to combat historic levels of violent conflict, the Coalition aims to make the case for peace to policymakers, politicians, and the general public. In recent months, the Coalition succeeded in convincing Cambridge, HarperCollins, and Macmillan publishers to include “peacebuilding” in their newest dictionary editions. Each year, the Alliance for Peacebuilding’s annual event, PeaceCon, gathers together a diverse network of peacebuilders and provides them with the opportunity to share their achievements, insights, and, most importantly, visions for the future of peacebuilding. Over the course of three dynamic days, conference participants have the opportunity to constructively engage in an array of activities and workshops structured around cutting-edge developments in the field of peacebuilding.
