Join Megan Schleicher, AfP’s Senior Associate for Policy and Advocacy for this event hosted by the Center for Nonviolent Solutions!
The world is experiencing a 30-year high in violent conflict. Battle deaths worldwide have increased by 340 percent in the last 10 years. Nearly 70 million people are refugees, 90% of whom are fleeing violence, war, and persecution. In violent areas, many policymakers view young people as risks needing supervision or victims needing protection. In fact, many young people are actively working for peace and security in their communities.
Center interns Sam Mescon, Luke Powell, and Gyani Pradhan Wong Ah Sui have created a series of short documentaries featuring the work and passion of several remarkable young peacebuilders. Join us for the premiere screening. The evening includes a panel discussion with the film-makers and Megan Schleicher, co-chair of the US Youth, Peace, and Security Coalition.
