In the lead-up to the Summit for Democracy, join AfP, Humanity United, the U.S. Institute of Peace, and Search for Common Ground on December 7th at 10am ET for a session that will convene U.S. and global civic leaders and government officials to rethink security sector assistance as a component of meaningful democratic development, leading to greater safety and more peace for citizens. The event will feature opening remarks by Uzra Zeya, the Under Secretary of State for Civilian Security, Democracy and Human Rights—and former CEO of AfP. The conversation will elevate best practices in security assistance, amplify local voices pushing for change, and advance a global architecture for security sector assistance built on more effective, democratic principles.
