Rebecca Duke Wiesenberg, Associate - PeaceCon 2024
Rebecca is the program associate for PeaceCon 2024, AfP’s annual conference. Rebecca focuses on using data and language to make information more accessible and actionable. Her particular areas of interest are process optimization, data communication, compliance and language access.
Before joining Alliance for Peacebuilding, Rebecca broke linguistic barriers to news information by founding and operating a news department in Massachusetts that published translated and original news content in 12 languages. At Human Rights First, Rebecca data engineered a process to examine the relationship between native language, access to an interpreter, legal credibility and asylum case acceptance rates. She also pioneered intercultural communication and negotiation protocols at two tech startups.
Rebecca graduated from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst in 2020 with a B.A. in Journalism and Anthropology; a minor in Chinese Language and Culture; and a Translation and Interpreting studies certificate. In 2021, she obtained a certificate in Data Science from Bloom Institute of Technology. She is also scrum certified.
In the fall of 2024, she will be starting her M.A. in Conflict Resolution and Coexistence at Brandeis University.In her free time, Rebecca likes to learn new languages and spend time with her family.
